Legal Case Management (LCM) release: version 0.6.4

The legal case management (LCM) system is software aimed for use by not-for-profit legal advice centres in order to make better follow-ups of their cases, including client consultations and court events.

This version is the first official release resulting from the ongoing collaboration of the LCM developers with the Cambridge Independent Advice Centre (CIAC).

This new version of LCM includes minor bug-fixes as well as a few minor feature enhancements:
-  Accessability has been improved in the “general” sections of cases, clients and organisations.
-  Mandatory keywords are now validated as such (and no longer lost on form error/reload).
-  Fixed bug when the “income, civil_status and gender” fields are activated from the site config (after cases are already created).
-  Fixed bug in UK translation.

Installation

The software can be downloaded at no cost from our Source Forge project page. For more information, consult the quickstart notes. A Debian GNU/Linux package (deb) is also available.

Upgrading

To upgrade from a previous version, overwrite the files then login as administrator. This will trigger the upgrade of the database structure (if necessary).

Background: The Legal Case Management system is a free software initiative of the Internet Rights Bulgaria Foundation (IRBF). The project was started on August 1st 2004. The software is downloaded an average of 100 times per month, is available in six languages and has known users in more than 10 countries. Project team: Christina Haralanova (manager), Mathieu Lutfy (software leader, PHP/MySQL), Anastas Giokov (PHP/MySQL, 2004-2005) and Krasimir Makaveev (Web designer, 2004-2005). Financial support: Cambridge Independent Advice Center (2006), Open Society Institute in collaboration with the Bulgarian Open Society Institute (2004-2005).
